The ice has melted and left us with brutally cold temps. When we go out now, it is just to feed and check on the animals, then we run right back in. I thought some fast and easy sewing projects would be fun to get us through the last weeks of winter. I have started my spring cleaning. I am completely done with the kitchen, but you can’t spend all your time cleaning. 🙂 So, I pinned lots of little fun sewing projects on Pinterest and started with this one.
Kraftie Katie has a wonderful tutorial and made it so easy!
Here is each step as I completed them:
Cut out two strips of fabric. Each 6″ x 22″
Fold each strip in half long ways and sew up the long sides.
Turn right sides out.
Make a plus sign. Be sure the seams are in the middle.
Fold the bottom one over the top.
Fold top piece over making sure seam is not showing.
Bring all four ends together and sew.
Now you have a headband.
See how easy?!

Quentin’s cold seems to be making its way through everyone.
Summer colds are the worst.
I mixed up a batch of hot chocolate mix for soothing sore throats. I followed this recipe from Tammy’s Recipes.
Hot Chocolate Mix
2 cups nonfat dry milk
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/2 cup dry non-dairy creamer
dash of salt
Combine all ingredients and stir well to mix. Store in an airtight container.
To serve, add 1/4 cup of mix to 8 ounces of hot water, adjusting to taste. Stir and enjoy!
Our garden is still producing quite a bit. Yesterday, we picked beets for the second time.
I wasn’t even sure if we would like pickled beets, but we had some with supper last night and they were great.
There is one more patch of beets that is doing quite well.
Spirit FM is collecting butterflies to encourage cancer patients.
We worked on these Wednesday afternoon.
I like how cheery these turned out.
It is nice and sunny here today and is only supposed to reach 80º.
I love it when its not so hot out.
Enjoy your day!
We received a couple of vintage fabric Christmas ornament panels from my sister over the weekend.
We were very happy to get them.
Me especially since I have been in a sewing mood lately.
The Shirt Tales were my favorite.
I am still using the same jelly roll fabric. They are definitely not traditional Christmas colors.
I (mostly) followed this tutorial. They were super easy and fun to make.
I purchased this jelly roll of fabric a couple of days ago, and I am thinking I could become addicted to them.
They are a lot of fun.
I followed this super easy mug rug tutorial and love how it turned out.
