July 10 Picture Post

It has gotten a little busy around here. We have continued to get a fair amount of rain, and with it lots of weeds that need pulled and grass that needs mowed.

We are getting so much from the garden now: green beans, beets, turnips, peppers, cucumbers, squash, and zucchini. Every days garden haul requires canning and freezing. Today we will be freezing peppers.

We had a nice 4th of July weekend. Last Friday we bowled and went out for pizza. Saturday morning, the 4th,  we had grilled chicken salads and s’mores. Sunday we had a cook-out, eat-in(crazy rain!) picnic with friends.

I am always snapping pictures with the intent of making a blog post that never happens! So, here is everything I wanted to share, and I will try to do better.

  1. All I can say is that your veggies are amazing! And so is your garden in that picture! I think Madison is winning in “keeping you well fed”! She is a great cook, and so young to be.
I bet you are really busy. And you have to feel so grateful and satisfied with all your hard work. You are reaping what you sowed! Andrea

  2. This is the second or third time I have made the time to read and enjoy this post, sorry it’s taken me so long to get a comment of encouragement on here. *smile* It all looks wonderful! The rain sounds dreamy. We had thunder roll through yesterday but no rain in sight. The weather is finally out of the triple didgits and that is really nice! Your produce looks fantastic, the purple cabbage is pretty. We don’t eat much in the way of cabbage, but we have a few heads in our garden too, they are the green ones. *smile* Have a great weekend. Sincerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!
