We Got Snow & The Yummiest Philly Cheese Steak Ever!

010

We got snow and extremely cold temps along with it! We are occupying ourselves indoors where it’s nice and warm with games of Monopoly and Rummy. I won a couple of games of Monopoly myself, but Madison did an amazing job at one game herself. She really skunked us all!

Last night I made a double batch of this Philly Cheese Steak Recipe. It is the best I have ever eaten and even makes a great topping for pizza! I know I jotted the recipe down from someplace online but can’t remember where.

Philly Cheese Steaks

1 lb steak (I used venison)

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp pepper

1/2 tsp paprika

1/4 tsp cayenne(I always leave this out)

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

3 T olive Oil

1/2 onion

1-2 green peppers

8 oz mushrooms

cheese(I used mozzarella. Pepper Jack goes really good too)

hoagie rolls(we ate ours on Romaine lettuce)

Place steak in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning together.  Sprinkle on beef and stir to combine. Heat half of oil over med-high heat. Saute beef to desired doneness. Remove from heat and keep warm. Heat remaining oil and saute veggies. Add steak to veggies and keep warm. Preheat oven to broil. Butter hoagie buns and lay a slice of cheese torn in half over bottom of each bun. Divide steak and veggies over bun and add another slice of cheese. Place in oven until cheese is melted.

These smell and taste amazing! Quentin asks for these to take to work quite often. Madison made up some peanut butter cookies for dessert.

Maybe snow days aren’t so bad after all!

  1. That steak looks delicious..and the cookies…my favorite! Cute cats and dog! We’ve been playing Sorry and Uno games. I am going to be so tired of games come spring! But they are a good pastime right now. Andrea

  2. The philly cheese steak looks delicious. That will definitely be going on my menu for next month. We love cheese steak. The cookies look so good. Bernard and the cats look like they are having fun. God bless.

  3. You did get a lot of snow. We got mostly ice. 😦
Love the sound of the Philly Cheese Steak. Thank you for the recipe.
    And those cookies look wonderful.
    Stay warm!

  4. Yes, you got snow too!! Looks like your furry friends are enjoying it. 🙂
The cheese steak looks good, but I would have to leave out the peppers and onions. 🙂 Oh, those cookies look so yummy!!

  5. You must be somewhere near the northwestern U.S….we also are having lots of snow and freezing temps. Snowdays can be lots of fun. When the kids were young, our family used to platy Monopoly a lot (and sometimes it got very competitive.) Stay warm and safe!!
