Our Week

We have had a good week. Things are going smoothly, and we are enjoying this slower time of year.

McKenzie had an eye appointment on Wednesday. Her eyes have improved so she was given a new prescription that is not as strong as the one she had.

Bub had a follow up appointment on Friday and also received good news. There are still white blood cells in his spinal fluid and some inflammation in his spine and head, but everything is trending back to normal. His tests were all good so his neurologist is thinking he had viral meningitis which takes a long time to completely recover from.

School is moving along nicely. We have been reading A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens this week.ย

In the kitchen we are enjoying lots of soups and stews. It is a great way to sneak in lots of veggies, and I have always been fascinated with “peasant” style cooking.

Today the ice and rain have been taking turns. We woke up to a light dusting of snow but there is no trace of it now. I am hoping to get a little snow before Christmas. If it is going to be cold there might as well be snow. ๐Ÿ™‚

I hope your weekend is super!

  1. Hi Vicki! I’m glad to hear good news for McKenzie and Bub. The Lord is gracious. ๐Ÿ™‚
All of your food dishes look so delicious. I like the sound of oranges and onions flavoring the liver. We’re eating more soups this year than we have in a long time. They’re just so good and you can empty out the refrigerator drawers, too. ๐Ÿ˜‰
    Have a wonderful weekend!

  2. Hi Vicki, Glad to hear that McKenzie’s eyes are doing better and that Bub is doing better too. Your soup looks delicious. They are so good on chilly nights. We probably got about 5-6 inches of snow! Nancy

  3. What wonderful news that health is improving. Your food looks scrumptious.. Hope the storm didn’t knock out your power. We have been fortunate so far this year that we have not lost our power even though we have had lots of snow storms already. Have a wonderful week ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. Okay, YUM! That potato soup looks and sounds amazingly good. I can see something like that for lunch today… … mmmm. *smile* Thanks for sharing your tasty meals the last two posts. *big smile*
It’s good to read that your daughter’s eyes are getting better and that her perscription is lessening. It was also wonderful to read that your son is getting better. Menningitis is not something to play with. My mom has batteled with the viral kind several times now… glad your son is getting better. Praise the Lord! *smile*
Have a wonderful day. Sinerely, Mommy of two growing blessings & so much more!

  5. Great news about Bub. We finally got our tree put up and so far Nana hasn’t ate any of it so it’s been a good week around here ๐Ÿ˜‰

  6. Your food looks delicious! I LOVE the soup picture. As you know, though, I love potato soup. Anyway, can’t wait to see you all the afternoon. God bless.
