It is raining here today and school seems to be flying by. Everyone has finished up their math and we will do spelling right before we have lunch at 11.
Yesterday was in the upper 60s and so nice. We worked outdoors most of the day cleaning out the coop, cleaning up the yard, and trimming goat hooves.
We celebrated two more birthdays this month. Madison turned 14 and McKenzie 13! I am going to say it again-they grow up way too fast!
Madison added a black lionhead to her rabbit collection to make 3. She is really enjoying them and taking excellent care of them.
We are picking out all the seeds for the plants we want to grow this year and adding them to our wishlist here. We are going to try growing all heirloom seeds.
Not much else is going on. Here are some pictures from our last week or so.
Happy 13th Birthday!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
I am linking up to:
We have bunnies! They are Lionhead rabbits and so fuzzy. The white rabbit is our male and his name is Hoth. The orange and gray rabbit is our female and her name is Dantooine(Dan-to-ween). When Dantooine is eight months old we will breed them. We are hoping to use a little of their fur to mix with Pippi’s for spinning. In the meantime we are looking for a couple of Angora rabbits also.
It is 48º here today, but the wind is so cold. We woke up to a sick Pippi this morning. After reading through the goat book and searching online we determined she had to have coccidiosis. There was nothing else it could be. I spoke to an old man that owns our local feed store and told him what was going on and what I was looking for. He said he would call his son, and he would be able to help me. We loaded Pippi up and headed to the farm store. The man’s son was there and already had a few things gathered for us. He went through each one and told me which one he thought would be better for her. I bought that medicine plus another just to have on hand. She is already feeling and acting much much better. I am so thankful they took the time to help us. You just don’t get that at our Tractor Supply.
Here are some cute bunny pictures. We built them a small playpen today for exercise. I have to get some zip ties so we can make it larger and more stable. We are hoping to tame them up more by putting them in the pen. Dantooine is already quite tame, but I did get scratched by Hoth today. He is older and a little skittish. I will make sure to use gloves when handling him for a while.
I hope everyone has enjoyed their weekend!
We are really enjoying yesterday’s snowstorm. We got 9 inches of snow in just a few hours. It took Quentin six hours to make it home. It usually takes him 1 1/2 hours. He had to take the long way home and got held up in a lot of accidents. We were really glad when he finally made it home.
It is quite comfortable outside, and we have spent most of the day outdoors playing and cleaning out the building that we raised the meat chickens in. We will use the litter that we cleaned out of there on the garden. We have been doing a lot of garden dreaming lately. 🙂
Quentin, Madison, Quentin Jr., and myself were all sick last week. We are finishing up antibiotics and doing much, much better. We only did school one day last week so now we are having to play catch-up. We haven’t gotten much done today. All this snow is distracting us! 🙂
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!
We got in 2 full days of school last week plus a half day. I thought we might have a little trouble getting back into the swing of things, but our days went by smoothly.
Friday we went bowling with the Dawsons. It was nice to get a break from our two and a half days of school and do something fun. 🙂

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
Hi, all! I hope you are having a great January 1! We are getting a break in the weather. It is up to 45º here right now. Made doing outdoor chores so much better. Our snow has melted and left us with a lot of mud though.
Most of our days last week were spent indoors relaxing and keeping warm. We started back with school yesterday doing only History, writing, and spelling. We took today off for New Years and will jump back in Wed. & Thurs. with full days of school and will take Fri. off for homeschool bowling. 🙂

Wintertime is reading time!
Our new goat, Buddy, is doing well. We were able to get a full dose of liquid dewormer down him today. It gets harder once they learn what a syringe is. Lilac and Willow now know that it means either a shot or dewormer, and they don’t like either one. 🙂
We were so happy to have the Dawsons over for lunch on Sunday. It was sort of a Christmas get together. They brought us a gingerbread house. We had fun putting it together Sunday night since we did not do one this past Christmas.

Last night we stayed up late playing The Game of Life. It was a fun time, and we had a lot of good laughs. I made finger foods and about 45 seconds before midnight we turned on the T.V. to watch the ball drop. Then we dropped. 🙂
Have a great 2013!
