Funnel Cakes

These are our first funnel cakes ever!  Yesterday Madison said she wants to try funnel cakes next time we go to Dollywood.  Today we decided to just make our own. 🙂  We don’t really have anything to compare these to, but they did taste really good- a lot like doughnuts.

Here is the recipe just in case you are craving funnel cakes now, or you’re like us and have never had one. 🙂

Funnel Cakes

2 eggs

1  1/2  cups milk

2 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup sugar

1 tsp vanilla flavoring

1 1/2 cups oil

Combine eggs, vanilla, and milk.  Sift all dry ingredients together and add to eggs and milk.  Heat oil to 360º.  Cover tip of funnel with finger.  Pour 1/4 cups of batter in funnel.  Pour batter from funnel into oil.  Fry 3 min.  Flip and fry 1 min.  Drain on paper towels.  Sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  1. One of our favorites! They are delicious. 🙂 They do taste a lot like doughnuts. We love Dollywood. It reminds me of the theme park Opryland that use to be in Nashville. That’s where we always went when I was little.
