Cherries

We had such a fun weekend picnicking and and cherry picking with the Dawsons to celebrate their Julies birthday.

We all got a lot of cherries.  I canned mine to make into pie filling later on and made some jelly.  I think it is the best jelly I have ever had.

We have worked on laundry today, dusted, and cleaned the bathrooms.   Quentin will pick up my mom when he gets off work.  My kids can’t wait for their Nanny to get here.  They know she will want to play cards and board games.

Blessings from One and a Half Acre Homestead!

  1. We had so much fun! I decided to put my cherries in the freezer. I did make the jelly like you did. I found the same recipe only using the Certo so that’s the one I did. We sampled a little that was left in the kettle and it tasted delicious. Tell your Mom we saide hi. God bless.

  2. You have a great start on canning. I hope that you all have a wonderful visit with your mom. My parents will play games with the girls when they visit.

    Have a wonderful day.

  3. Yum! I love cherry pie. Too bad you don’t live close. I would have to take you up on that meal offer. 🙂 I know your kiddos are excited to see their Nanny. I need to finish up with my dusting today. Have a great day.

  4. I so enjoyed catching up on the posts that I missed. Your pics are all great. I love the one of you and HB sitting on the tree.
You got a great start to your preserving season. We have just started ours with our rhubarb.
It looks so warm there, I hope we get some of that warm weather soon enough.
I am getting so excited to go camping. HB and Justin are getting excited to go fishing as well. Justin has gone a little bit so far and brought home a few good sized trout.
YUM Hush puppies. It has been a long time since I had those. My weeones have never has them before. I should make a batch.
Take care and thanks for the lovely comments you have left.
